Headed to Nashville? These Bands Will Blow Your Mind—Look Them Up NOW

Save yourself the scramble. Here’s a list of must-see bands tearing up Nashville’s live music scene, straight from the people who know best—the folks who’ve seen them, heard them, and can’t stop talking about them.

The Ones You’ll Hear About Over and Over

Some names just keep popping up, and for good reason.

John Stone & Loose Lips – You’ll find them lighting up Kid Rock’s Big Honky Tonk and Bourbon Street Blues Boogie Bar. Grit, energy, and that classic Nashville swagger.

Hippies and Cowboys – Outlaw vibes with honky-tonk heart. Your boots will be sore the next day.

Kayley Green – Catch her at Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row. Saturday nights hit different when she’s on stage.

David Graham & The Eskimo Brothers – Think raw, foot-stomping, raise-your-glass energy. They frequent Layla’s and always deliver.

Cory Farley – A Second Fiddle staple. Big voice, bigger crowd reactions.

Lefty Ferguson – Early riser? Hit Legends Corner from 10 AM to 2 PM and watch a morning crowd go wild.

Joshua Hedley – If traditional country’s your jam, Robert’s Western World and Hedley are your dream combo.

Rising Stars & Hidden Gems

Tyson Hanes – A familiar face around town, with a voice that sticks with you.

Will Jones & Organic Country – For a new twist on country that still feels like home.

Monhollen Music – Sweet harmonies, soulful lyrics, unmistakably Nashville.

The Huffer Brothers – Ole Red, Jon Bon Jovi's, and Friends in Low Places.

The Reeves Brothers – Old-school meets fresh. They’re a can't-miss experience.

Jered Ames – He’s got people saying he’s saving country music, one song at a time.

Payton Collier – Layla’s regular, rooftop dueling pianos at the Hyatt, and a voice that defines country.

Kayley Bishop & Hand Over Face – Raw songwriting talent and unforgettable live energy.

Kelly’s Heroes – Find them at Robert’s World of Country Music Bar and thank us later.

Randy Nations Band – Tuesday nights at Whiskey Bent from 6–10. Write that down.

Matt Long – Legendary guitar work that keeps folks coming back to Whiskey Bent.

Justin Bryan – Saturday 2–6 at Morgan Wallen’s. Good ole country with heart.

Caldwell Jack and the 6 Pack, Wild Bill and the Bruisers, Anna Barnes – Yes, all three. Yes, they’re all great.

The CowPokes, Travis Man Band, Revelry, Jet Black and the Cadillacs – You’ll want to catch their sets while you can.

Madison Pisani, Monte and the Monsters, Bobby McClendon, Chris Shrader, Krystal Steele, Noah Garner Music – Every one of these names means a guaranteed good night.

Samantha Stroh – Ten years on Broadway and she's still the one locals point tourists toward. Originally from Marietta, GA, Samantha covers all genres, but her main focus is 90s country and traditional sounds—the stuff that made you fall in love with Nashville in the first place.

Her husband, Chuck Ward, is a touring pro who's played with Craig Morgan, Georgette Jones, Brent Mason, and currently Aaron Lewis, and he often joins her on stage. The chemistry's real, the talent's undeniable, and Samantha's entire vibe is about making your Nashville experience feel personal, fun, and like you're part of something bigger than just another night out. Catch her set and you'll get it.

All her shows are posted on her website: www.samanthastroh.com/shows

Donny Lee – If you've been to Broadway since 2014, you've probably seen him. Donny's worked the main stages at Tootsie's, Honky Tonk Central, and Kid Rock's, and for the past couple years he's held down a residency at Hank Williams Jr's. But Nashville's just home base—he's got a touring schedule that stretches across the US, Canada, and Australia, where he's built a legit fan base that keeps calling him back.

With over 30 original songs streaming on all platforms and his latest release Me Too dropping January 1st of this year, Donny's not just covering hits—he's writing the next ones.

Check his schedule at donnyleemusic.com/shows to catch him live. You'll see why he's lasted this long.

Where to Find Them

Bands bounce around, but these venues are solid gold:

  • Kid Rock’s Big Honky Tonk & Rock n’ Roll Steakhouse – Where John Stone and Loose Lips light it up.
  • Whiskey Bent & Bootleggers – If it’s got twang and soul, it’s been here.
  • Layla’s Honky Tonk – For when you need high-energy roots and rockabilly vibes.
  • Legends Corner – Classic country and musical mastery.
  • Robert’s Western World – If you want real-deal country, this is the church—and everyone on this list has probably played here.

Plan Your Nights Right

Let the music guide your night—not just the tourist flow. Look up these artists. Find their schedules. Make your own magic.

And if you stumble across a new name not on this list?

You know what to do.

Tell someone. That’s how Nashville works.

  1. How disappointed am I that you didn’t mention Hand Over Face band at JBJs. They put on an awesome concert like show. They have a long list of celebrity rockers that have stopped by and performed with them.

    • I’ll add them. Since I wrote this article I’ve had a number of people recommend their favorite bands. It’s probably impossible to add them all but I’ll keep trying!

He AND his band, The Witnesses, play at Whiskey Bent Saloon weekly (Thu & Fri’s usually), & AJ’s Bar every Friday but…they’re on the road a lot playing all over the country trying to now! Jared Hovis usually posts his weekly schedule on social media too!
