Hi!
I'm Alex Hawker, a native-born Australian who moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 2012. Why did I move here?
The short story is that I met the love of my life while traveling to Nashville. We were engaged in less than three months and married in less than a year.
After getting married and starting the first two years of our marriage in Australia, I became an American citizen. Now I call Nashville home. We have two beautiful boys, and life couldn't be better.
Nashville is a fantastic place to live, and it's exploding! I got married here, partied here, and have been to almost every major tourist attraction. In fact, the more I see and do in Tennessee, the more I'm intrigued – it is a diverse and fabulous state.
Having lived here for ten years and having come from another country, I see it from a unique perspective: the good and the bad. Also, with two boys of my own, I'm always looking for things to do as a family.
My father-in-law was the late Joe Chambers, who founded the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in downtown Nashville. I learned so much from him. I got a taste of what visitors to Nashville are looking for.
After being a visitor myself, I realized that I could assist my fellow travelers. This is the inside scoop and a local's perspective on your next visit to Nashville. It doesn't matter whether you're a native Tennessean or not.
