I asked Nashville visitors for their favorite safe, walkable hotels for a surprise January birthday trip. The recommendations came fast, and one name dominated the conversation.
Drury
This hotel got mentioned more than any other — and people weren't shy about their enthusiasm.
“Drury!!!!!” one person wrote with five exclamation points.
“Que everyone recommending Drury now. Go!” someone joked, predicting exactly what would happen in the comments.
And they were right. “Drury Downtown” appeared over and over in the responses.
The Drury sits close to Lower Broadway and apparently hits that sweet spot of location, safety, and value that visitors are looking for.

Hilton
The second most popular recommendation was Hilton, with several people specifying the Downtown Hilton location.
“HILTON” one person wrote in all caps, leaving no room for doubt about their opinion.
The downtown location puts you within walking distance of Broadway and Bridgestone Arena.

Embassy Suites
“Embassy suites is excellent next to bridgestone,” one visitor shared.
The location next to Bridgestone Arena means you're right in the action but slightly removed from the Broadway chaos.

Renaissance
The Renaissance got multiple shout-outs from people who've stayed there and loved it.
One local who clearly knows the area well listed it among her favorites: “We like Holston House, Renaissance, Omni, Hyatt Centric, Hyatt Place and Drury.”
