Finding the right hotel in Nashville can feel like choosing between convenience and cost.
Do you splurge for a spot close enough to Broadway that you can stumble home after a night of honky-tonk fun? Or save some cash by staying farther out and relying on rideshares?
The debate's a classic. But after digging through dozens of recommendations, here's the lowdown on where to stay, straight from the people who've been there, done that, and got the hotel key card.
Holiday Inn Nashville-Vanderbilt (Downtown)
Sheri McLaughlin had a fantastic stay here, praising the outdoor pool and super friendly staff. The best part? A free shuttle that drops you off downtown and around the area, so you can skip the rideshare hassle. Richard Harrington backed this up, calling it a great spot with the added bonus of the Commodore Grille on-site—so good he already booked his next trip.
Embassy Suites Vanderbilt
Jennie B highly recommends Embassy Suites Vanderbilt, and for good reason. Free hot breakfast with an omelette bar? Check. Free happy hour drinks? Double check. Plus, they have a free shuttle to Fifth and Broadway, making it easy to get around without breaking the bank.
Drury Plaza Hotel Nashville Downtown
If you want to stay close and cut down on extra spending, Tommi Tripp swears by the Drury Plaza. They offer two meals included, free breakfast, and a “kickback” with snacks and drinks in the evening. Sumler Paige agrees, adding that the pool is fantastic and parking is cheaper compared to other downtown hotels.
Placemakr Premier SoBro
For those who want the ultimate convenience of walking distance, Lori Hodge Houston had a great experience at Placemakr Premier SoBro. While she’s tried staying further out before, she found being nearby more convenient—especially since Uber can be unreliable on busy nights.
Comfort Inn on Demonbreun
Looking for something budget-friendly but still close? Robin Nyman-Galloway stayed here and was pleased with the price, breakfast included, and short Uber rides (around $5 to Bridgestone Arena).
Homewood Suites by Hilton Vanderbilt
Benjamin Deets had a great stay at the Homewood Suites, enjoying a spacious 750 sq ft room and a convenient shuttle that runs late into the evening. No need to stress about getting back after a night out.
Sentral SoBro
Lisa Marie Duncan stayed at Sentral SoBro and was impressed by the affordable, modern apartments that were within walking distance of Broadway. If you want a home-away-from-home feel without needing an Uber, this might be your spot.
Music Valley Area (Opryland)
Dennis Ingram swears by the Music Valley area near Opryland, staying at Hyatt Place. The area offers a shuttle every 30 minutes downtown, so you can avoid the downtown traffic and expensive parking while staying in a quieter area.
TownePlace Suites Midtown
Amanda Rapp stayed at TownePlace Suites in Midtown and mentioned that the hotel even provided promo codes for Lyft rides. She also noted Lyft was generally cheaper than Uber during her stay, so it’s worth comparing prices when you're there.
Maxwell House Nashville
Bree Nicole stayed at the Maxwell House Nashville and appreciated the shuttle service every 30 minutes to Broadway, running until late at night.
Capital Hotel
Kendale Carroll Burgess called the Capital Hotel “reasonably priced and very walkable,” making it a solid choice if you're hoping to save on rides but stay close.
La Quinta Downtown
Denise Lynne stayed at La Quinta Downtown and found it a short and pleasant walk across the pedestrian bridge to get to Broadway, making it a budget-friendly pick without sacrificing location.
