Nashville is building a brand-new stadium, and one of Tennessee’s biggest country stars already has a date with it.
Kenny Chesney will bring his Original Vibe Room Tour to the new Nissan Stadium on Saturday, July 3, 2027, with Eric Church, Sheryl Crow and Greylan James joining the lineup.
That would already be a major summer concert in Music City. But this one comes with some extra history attached.
Nissan Stadium says Chesney is the first headlining artist announced for a concert at the new stadium, which is scheduled to open in 2027. The show is currently set to begin at 4:30 p.m. CT.
For Nashville, that makes the concert more than another stop on a giant country tour. It will be one of the early chances for thousands of fans to see what the city's newest major venue can do.

Chesney Is No Stranger to Nissan Stadium
There may be no more fitting country artist to help introduce the new building.
According to Nissan Stadium, Chesney played six tour stops at the current stadium, the most by any artist there.
Now he gets to carry that history across the parking lot.
The new Nissan Stadium is being built next to the existing venue on the east side of the Cumberland River. The Tennessee Titans say construction is expected to be completed in 2027, with the team moving into its new home for the 2027 NFL season.
The Titans have also said concerts and other events are expected before the team's first regular-season game in the building. Earlier in 2026, Titans President and CEO Burke Nihill said the first ticketed event was on track to be a concert in the spring and that several events could take place before football begins.
So Chesney's July show will arrive during what should be a very busy opening chapter for the stadium.
Eric Church and Sheryl Crow Make This a Serious Nashville Lineup
Chesney will not be showing up alone.
Eric Church and Sheryl Crow are scheduled to join him for the tour, while East Tennessee singer-songwriter Greylan James will open the shows. The tour announcement describes the 2027 run as an all-stadium trip across 19 markets.
For a Nashville date, that lineup is especially strong.
Chesney and Church are both closely tied to Tennessee and country music. Crow brings a catalog that stretches well beyond country into rock and pop. James gives the bill another Tennessee connection and represents a newer generation of songwriters and performers.
In other words, this isn't simply one superstar testing out a new building. Nashville is getting something closer to a one-day stadium festival.
And because the show lands on July 3, it will also fall right at the start of Nashville's Fourth of July weekend.
Anyone who has tried to move around downtown during a major holiday weekend probably understands the practical translation: this could be a very busy few days on both sides of the river.
Why Chesney Is Going Back to Stadiums
The 2027 tour marks Chesney's return to a full stadium schedule after spending two years performing at Sphere in Las Vegas.
In announcing the tour, Chesney said he had missed the scale and energy of stadium shows and wanted to build an entire summer around them again.
The tour begins April 24 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa and ends August 28 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. Nashville sits near the middle of the schedule on July 3.
Country Now first reported details of the announcement on September 15, including Chesney's decision to bring Church, Crow and James along for the run.
Rather than simply adding Nashville because it is Music City, the stop has a little more weight because of Chesney's long stadium history here.
The current Nissan Stadium opened in the late 1990s and is now in its final seasons as the Titans' home. Its replacement is being built immediately beside it and is expected to feature a translucent roof, terraces overlooking Nashville and updated viewing areas.
Chesney's 2027 concert will give fans an early chance to see how that new indoor-outdoor stadium experience feels when the field belongs to guitars instead of quarterbacks.
Tickets Go on Sale Soon
Fans who want to attend can register through Chesney's website for early ticket access.
The Vibe Room Presale begins Thursday, September 17 at 10 a.m. local time, according to the official tour announcement. Registration does not guarantee a ticket. General ticket sales are scheduled to begin Friday, September 25.
Nissan Stadium is also advertising premium seating and presale access for the Nashville show. Parking and entrance-opening times have not yet been announced.
Those details will matter as the date gets closer because the new stadium will still be unfamiliar territory for most concertgoers.
A Big First Summer for Nashville's New Stadium
The bigger Nashville story may be what this concert represents.
For years, much of the talk around the new Nissan Stadium has focused on the Titans, construction and the possibility of attracting major national events. But a modern stadium in Nashville was always going to be about more than football.
Concerts will be a huge part of the building's identity.
And having Kenny Chesney attached to one of its first major summers makes sense. Few artists have made giant country concerts feel as natural as he has, and few have as much history with the stadium Nashville is preparing to replace.
On July 3, 2027, Nashville fans will get something old and something very new at the same time: Chesney back on a stadium stage, inside a stadium the city will still be getting to know.
For Music City, that is a pretty appropriate introduction.
