If you're a Garth Brooks fan heading to Nashville, you can't miss his new spot, Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky Tonk. This place, which opened on March 7, 2024, is the largest venue on Broadway, sitting at 411 Broadway.
When you get there, you'll see a big neon sign that blends right into the flashy Broadway vibe. Inside, there's a giant statue of Garth himself, perfect for snapping a pic with your friends. The bar spreads across four floors, each offering something different.
The first two floors are all about big spaces, huge LED screens, and lighting that makes you feel like you're at a concert. The main stage is designed to look like Brooks' 1997 Central Park concert. Live bands play a mix of country hits and popular songs from other genres.
For a more laid-back scene, head to the rooftop “Oasis” bar. It's beach-themed, with a DJ spinning tunes and awesome views of the Nashville skyline.
Food and drinks here are a treat. Trisha Yearwood, Brooks' wife, crafted the menu. You'll find tasty options like Trisha's ParTY Kitchen Chicken Tenders and other honky-tonk favorites. Drinks are priced reasonably for the area, with a vodka cranberry costing about $12.
The atmosphere is lively and fun. Visitors rave about the live music, friendly staff, and overall vibe. One Yelp reviewer said, “The people were fantastic, the live music was top-notch, and I never felt too crowded.”
However, be prepared for crowds, especially on weekends. The first two floors and the rooftop are first-come, first-served, but VIP and large party reservations are available.
The bar is open Monday through Friday from 11 am to 2 am, and Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 2 am.
Some locals might grumble about Broadway's commercialization, but for country music fans and tourists, Friends in Low Places is a must-visit. As one visitor put it, it's “one of the must-go-to honky tonks when you're on lower Broadway.”
Expect a bustling, lively atmosphere. If you prefer something quieter, check out Nashville's off-Broadway spots. But for a true Garth Brooks fan, Friends in Low Places is a highlight of any Nashville trip.
Extra Experiences:
We loved the atmosphere and the food was good, though portions seemed small for the price. The wedding cake was amazing, but the slice was tiny. Service was friendly but slow. We planned a quick stop but ended up staying all evening, loving the decor and vibe. The mix of rock and country music was fantastic. We had the buffalo chicken dip appetizer, a beer, and a cooler—all delicious.
The rooftop experience with frozen drinks was a hit, especially the piña coladas. The beer was cold and cheaper than other honky-tonks.
Overall, Friends in Low Places is a great new addition to Broadway. The bands were excellent, the service was good, and the decor was top-notch. Even if it's busy, it's worth a visit for the Garth Brooks charm and atmosphere.
