Downtown Hilton: A Nashville Visitors Group Review

A member of the Nashville Visitors Group recently posted about their stay at the downtown Hilton, calling it “worth every penny” and noting that “not many people mention it.” They wanted to spotlight how convenient the location truly is, praising both the rooms and views.

One commenter quickly corrected that perception: “One of the best places to stay – people mention it quite often.”

The Location Advantage

The hotel's location emerged as its biggest selling point. As one commenter whose son works there as an accountant explained: “I always say it's the BEST location of any hotel in Nashville! In front of it is the Country music hall of Fame, the Bridgestone Arena is directly to the left of the hotel, the Symphony center to it's right & directly behind it are all the best bars (Tootsies, etc.) of Broadway.”

Multiple visitors called it their go-to spot. “My favorite place to stay!!! We try other places and always come back here,” one wrote.

Another declared: “The only place I will stay in Nashville 1/2 block from BW and 2 doors down from JBJ'S.”

Several people emphasized the walkability factor. “I stayed there on my first trip to Nashville and the location was perfect,” one visitor shared, adding that despite the price and no included breakfast, “I would pay it again for location alone.”

The Price Debate

Cost became a recurring discussion point in the comments. One person bluntly stated: “It's nice, but not $400+/night nice.”

Others acknowledged the expense but felt it worthwhile. “A bit pricey, but love the easy walkable location to Broadway,” one regular guest wrote.

Another agreed: “A bit pricey, but so close to so many things.”

One commenter offered a different perspective on value: “It's a beautiful for sure, but too pricy and no free perks. You aren't spending much time in the room so I Rather spend the extra on Broadway.”

Multiple people suggested using Hilton Honors points to offset costs. The original poster specifically recommended this approach, and others chimed in: “Completely agree, it's amazing, esp with points!”

What to Know Before You Book

The original poster included an important warning about Nashville bars: “The bars are hard core about ID's. We went to Miranda Lambert's for lunch and 2 different tables were approached by security personnel and 2 full drinks were taken away and dumped in a sink. I was carded too, each and every time.”

One frequent guest offered a crucial heads-up about room selection: “If you opt to stay on the broadway side of the hotel expect it to be loud until about 3AM. There's no rooftop bar but the lobby bar is awesome.”

They also praised the staff: “An absolutely beautiful hotel and the folks that work there are amazing. We've stayed there many times and have always enjoyed it.”

The Loyal Following

Several commenters revealed they're repeat customers. “It's where we always stay,” one couple wrote simply.

Another shared a photo from the hotel's front entrance taken years ago: “We always stay there when we're in Nashville.”

The hotel clearly has its fans who don't mind paying premium prices for the convenience of being steps from Broadway, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and Bridgestone Arena. For visitors using points or prioritizing location over budget, the downtown Hilton keeps earning recommendations in the Nashville Visitors Group.
