I have a Facebook audience of 30,000 people and growing. The biggest benefit is that I can ask questions to those who love Nashville and those who have recently visited.
I recently asked, “What are the go-to places for live music in Nashville?”
There were many answers!
I took the top ten most often mentioned places.
Enjoy!

Robert's Western World
Right on Lower Broadway, Robert's Western World is a true Nashville classic and is constantly voted the best place for country music on Broadway.
If you’re after that genuine honky-tonk feel, this is the place to be. Expect live country tunes every night from both local legends and rising stars.
The drinks are some of the cheapest on Broadway, and you can’t go wrong with the famous “Recession Special” – a fried bologna sandwich, chips, and a PBR for under $10.
The cozy atmosphere and lively crowd make it the perfect spot to dive into Nashville's heart. No cover charge, but the band sure appreciates tips. Read our full local's guide to Roberts here.

Music City Bar and Grill
Tucked away near the Opryland Hotel, Music City Bar and Grill offers a relaxed vibe with a strong focus on traditional country music. It’s a spot where both locals and tourists feel right at home.
The food menu is packed with American favorites, and the beer selection is impressive. The live music here is always top-notch, often featuring seasoned musicians eager to share their stories through song. With reasonable prices, it's a great choice for a laid-back night out.

Kid Rock’s Big Honky Tonk and Rock n’ Roll Steakhouse
This three-story joint on Broadway is where country meets rock in a big way. The main stage on the first floor is always buzzing with live bands, while the upper levels offer more bars and places to chill. The vibe is electric, especially with the large windows that open up to the street, giving you that indoor-outdoor feel. Drinks are on the pricier side (around $12 for a cocktail), but the energy and live performances make it worth every penny. Be ready for a cover charge during peak times. The Nashville Palace
Just a stone’s throw from the Grand Ole Opry, The Nashville Palace has been a go-to for country music lovers for decades. With live performances from both local and national acts, this venue keeps the country spirit alive.
There's a dance floor if you're in the mood to show off your moves, and the menu is full of Southern comfort foods. Drinks are reasonably priced, and the family-friendly atmosphere means everyone is welcome. No cover charge here, but it’s wise to book ahead if you’re coming with a group.

Legends Corner
Legends Corner is one of those dive bars on Lower Broadway that you just have to visit. The live music is fantastic, and the drinks won’t cost you an arm and a leg. The walls are covered with memorabilia from country music legends, adding to the spot’s charm. It’s a place where you can grab a cold beer (around $6) and enjoy some of the best live music Nashville has to offer. The intimate setting and friendly crowd make it a hit with both locals and tourists. No cover charge, but tipping the band is the norm.

Losers
Losers Bar and Grill offers a chill atmosphere away from the hustle of Broadway. Nestled near Vanderbilt University, it’s popular with locals and those in the know. The outdoor patio is a great spot to unwind with a cold beer while listening to talented musicians. Prices are fair, and the laid-back vibe makes it easy to relax. No cover charge here, but the performers always appreciate tips.

Garth Brooks' Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky Tonk
Garth Brooks’ bar on Broadway, opened in 2024, is a must-see for any fan of the country star. The venue boasts a large stage for live music, a rooftop bar called “The Oasis,” and plenty of Garth-themed decor for photo ops. Drinks are on the higher end (around $12-$18), but the quality of the performances and the lively atmosphere make it worth the splurge. There’s usually a cover charge during peak hours, and the crowd is always buzzing with energy. Read our full local's guide here.

The Bluebird Café
The Bluebird Café, nestled in the Green Hills neighborhood, is an iconic listening room known for its intimate setting and strict “Shh” policy. It’s a place where the music takes center stage, and many famous artists like Taylor Swift and Garth Brooks got their start here. Tickets are tough to snag and sell out fast, so planning ahead is key. Prices are reasonable, and the venue is welcoming to all ages, making it a great spot for the whole family. No cover charge, but you’ll need reservations.

The Listening Room Café
Over in the SoBro district, The Listening Room Café offers a great mix of live music and dining. It’s a place where talented singer-songwriters share their craft in an intimate, engaging environment. The menu is full of American classics, and the drink selection is solid. Prices are mid-range, and the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere makes it a favorite spot. No cover charge here, but it’s smart to make a reservation, especially on weekends.
