That variety is useful when one child wants a big coaster and another is not quite ready for one.
Dollywood can easily take up an entire day, so families may want to make it the main event instead of trying to squeeze several other major attractions into the same schedule.
2. Dollywood’s Splash Country
Visiting during the warmer months? Dollywood has another family attraction right next door.
Dollywood’s Splash Country is a separate 35-acre water park with slides, pools and family-friendly water attractions. It includes faster rides as well as areas designed for younger children and families looking for something calmer.
There is an important seasonal note for anyone planning a trip right now: Splash Country’s 2026 season ran from May 16 through Sept. 20, and the park says it will return in 2027.

Some activities have height, weight or other restrictions, so parents should check those requirements before making promises to younger kids.
Its biggest vacation-planning advantage may be even simpler: WonderWorks is indoors.
When rain arrives in the Smokies, that suddenly becomes a pretty important feature.
4. Titanic Museum Attraction
A Pigeon Forge family vacation does not have to be all roller coasters, arcades and go-karts.
The Titanic Museum Attraction at 2134 Parkway offers families a more educational stop.
Visitors can explore authentic Titanic artifacts, recreated areas of the ship and interactive exhibits. New and updated artifact displays were also introduced for 2026.
The museum recommends buying tickets in advance to guarantee entry.

5. The Island in Pigeon Forge

The 23-acre destination has more than 80 shops, restaurants and attractions. One of its most recognizable features is the 200-foot Great Smoky Mountain Wheel.

Mini-golf also fills a useful spot in a family itinerary. It does not require an entire vacation day, and you certainly do not need to be good at golf to enjoy it.
In fact, spectacularly bad putting can sometimes be the best part.
8. NASCAR SpeedPark Smoky Mountains
If the kids want to race, NASCAR SpeedPark in Sevierville offers plenty of chances.
The 25-acre family entertainment park is centered on go-karts but also includes rides, mini-golf, bumper boats, arcade games, mini bowling and other activities.

The zoo currently lists daily hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and says it closes on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
10. Smoky Mountain Deer Farm & Exotic Petting Zoo
The Smoky Mountain Deer Farm offers a more hands-on animal experience.
The attraction sits on 140 acres in Sevierville. Visitors can walk among and hand-feed deer while also seeing animals including camels, zebra, goats, reindeer, elk, emus, miniature horses, ostriches and donkeys.
The property also offers horseback riding.
Families interested in riding should plan ahead. The Deer Farm currently requires horseback riding reservations and says it cannot accommodate walk-in riders.
11. Tennessee Museum of Aviation
Have a child who stops to look every time an airplane flies overhead?
The Tennessee Museum of Aviation may deserve a spot on the itinerary.
Located in Sevierville, the museum is Tennessee’s official repository and archive of aviation history. Exhibits include aircraft, uniforms, models, military history and aviation memorabilia.
Its aircraft hangar also contains restored vintage aircraft.
Current hours vary by season. From March through November, the museum lists hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Winter hours are shorter, and the museum is closed Sundays and Mondays.

12. Sevier Air Trampoline & Ninja Warrior Park

14. Wilderness at the Smokies
Wilderness at the Smokies combines a Sevierville resort with a large collection of family activities.
The resort includes the Wild WaterDome indoor water park as well as seasonal outdoor water attractions.
Then there is Adventure Forest, a 25,000-square-foot indoor family entertainment center. Activities include a three-story ropes course, laser tag, mini-golf, mini bowling, a climbing wall and an arcade.
