Toby Keith Raises A Red Solo Cup As Newest Addition To Legends Corner Mural In Nashville

If you’ve ever walked down Broadway in Downtown Nashville, you know it’s basically sensory overload in the best way possible.

Live music spills out onto the sidewalks. Neon signs flash in every direction. Somebody is always singing Garth Brooks karaoke at full volume, whether the crowd asked for it or not.

And right in the middle of all that chaos sits one of the most recognizable pieces of country music art in the city — the Legends Corner mural.

Now, the mural has a new addition. And honestly, it feels long overdue.

Toby Keith Officially Joins The Legends Corner Mural

The late Toby Keith was recently added to the massive mural painted on the side of Legends Corner at 428 Broadway.

If you’ve never stopped to look closely at it before, the mural shows some of country music’s biggest stars gathered together like they’re all hanging out at the same bar. Which, if we’re being honest, sounds like the kind of place most country fans would gladly spend all their money.

The artwork was painted by Nashville artist Tim Davis and has become one of Broadway’s most photographed spots over the years.

And yes, the lineup is stacked.

Johnny Cash. Dolly Parton. George Strait. Reba. Willie Nelson. Alan Jackson. Garth Brooks. Loretta Lynn. The list keeps going.

Now Toby Keith is part of it too.

The Red Solo Cup Detail Makes It Even Better

The best part?

Toby Keith isn’t just standing there in the mural. He’s raising a bright red solo cup.

That little detail feels incredibly fitting for the man behind “Red Solo Cup,” which somehow became both a joke song and an absolute country music anthem at the exact same time.

Seriously, how many songs about plastic cups end up getting entire arenas singing along?

Not many.

The mural update happened sometime around last August, and fans quickly noticed the tribute online. One TikTok video showing the artwork called it the perfect way to honor Keith’s legacy. It’s hard to disagree with that.

The Legends Corner Mural Changes More Than People Realize

A lot of tourists probably assume the mural has looked the same forever, but that’s actually not true.

Legends Corner updates it from time to time. And sometimes those changes create plenty of drama online.

You might remember when Taylor Swift was removed from the mural a few years ago and replaced with Brad Paisley. Swift fans were not exactly calm about it.

But updates are pretty normal for the artwork. The mural has always evolved alongside country music itself.

Adding Toby Keith feels less controversial and more like correcting an obvious omission.

Because when you think about modern country music icons, Toby Keith is absolutely part of that conversation.

Toby Keith’s Legacy Still Feels Everywhere In Nashville

It’s still strange to think Toby Keith has been gone for more than two years.

The country star passed away in February 2024 at the age of 62 after battling stomach cancer. And even now, his music still feels everywhere.

Walk into enough bars on Broadway and you’ll probably hear at least one Toby Keith song before the night’s over. Maybe three if the crowd gets rowdy enough.

Songs like “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue,” “Should’ve Been A Cowboy,” and “Beer For My Horses” still hit just as hard today.

And honestly, seeing his smiling face permanently added to one of Broadway’s most recognizable landmarks feels right.

Especially with that red solo cup raised in the air like he’s still joining the party.
